The 42 kilometre long trail passes throughGhodaTabela, Lama Hotel, Rimche, Sherpagaon, Khangjim to end at Syabrubesi and is estimated to take around four hours to complete.
Winning participants would be awarded with NPR 1,00,500 (first), NPR 78,750 (second) and 52,500 (third) along with medals and certificates. Participation fee for the event is USD $75 for international athletes and NPR 2,500 for Nepalese, with the fee waived for local athletes from Rasuwa.
The event was first organised in Dhunche, Gosainkunda in 2016 as a half marathon to spread awareness among the international community that the Langtang region and other places in Nepal are safe for trekking after the devastating earthquake in 2015. TAAN targets to make Langtang trekking the third most popular for trekkers in Nepal, the first two being Everest and Annapurna trekking.
